Environmental 5 Why Analysis

September 29, 2016 Ian Cohen, MS

A critical part of any environmental management system (EMS) comes after safety inspections have been completed. Even if your environmental department excels at completing inspections and undertaking corrective actions, your EMS will not be effective if you fail to identify root causes quickly and accurately.

One of the most popular and comprehensive ways to identify root causes is through a Five Why Analysis.

This whitepaper will discuss why you should carry out Five Why Analysis in the first place, highlight the benefits of this method, and identify some common mistakes that are to be avoided.

Download this whitepaper and learn:

  • How limiting yourself to 5 ‘whys’ may be a mistake
  • How to be sure you have correctly identified a root cause
  • How to deal with complicated incidents that have multiple root causes
